Through the Centuries
Centuries ago I’ve heard your calling…
And I listened.
One by one my friends were falling…
And I stayed.
I passed with you still by my side
the light of lives, the endless night,
I swore to follow and to give,
I swore to obey, not to live.
In those moments beyond the time
you offered me the wings of mine.
But I refused. You know why?
Even when I knew I’ll cry?
To spend a moment of eternity,
feel just a bit of humanity...
Was it bad of me to choose?
In both cases I would lose.
Now I know that you were right,
but don’t you see I had to fight?
Don’t you see I couldn’t flee?
How much cruel can you be?
In spite of my guilt and my pride
I still hope I’m not denied
to try and walk this path at once.
I hope I haven’t lost my chance.
Centuries ago I’ve heard your calling…
But now... do you remember me?
