It´s OK :-)
I got some book, Angličtina pro nejmenší. Every child in KG got this too, so I will work with this, but there´s no more interesting songs.

I have a plan, that I will teach them the Sheldon song. I think, that thay will love it :-)

But, ehm... :-)
So, thank you for your offer, I am happy for everything, that can help me :-)

I´m sorry too, I have a little fever and in TV is some interesting film with cute sharks :-)

As you wish, I can look up some nursery rhymes in our bookshop, we are specialized also in preschool


I´m too old and the language is still in the progress. We learned german term "kindergarden" :o) but I found the kindergarten in online dictionary

PS: sorry for the syntax, I´m little bit confused. I don´t know which is Dutch and which is English :o)

Thank you so much. At tuesday I will have the first lesson with kids in the kinderkarten. I´m little scared, but I hope, that everything will be OK. But, in this kinderkarten was some problem with last tutor and parents are sceptic, about english for their kids. and now, they will get me. Lucky them! -.-

But, I´m happy for those songs and rhymes. I got a lot of songs from agency, but I want to have something extra.
so, if you will have something else, please, put this here.

and, last thing. Do you have some games for little kids? or story?

How come you all know so many rhymes and songs in English?! I admire you :)

I know only one silly song and, while singing it, you have to touch that part of body you are just singing about (there is a Czech version, too, but the melody is quite different):

oh, I because of your rhymes i found, that Three Little kittens are much longer. I knew only first part and a little bit of second.

THREE LITTLE KITTENS

The three little kittens, they lost their mittens,

Well, I have a kid's book of nursery rhymes. I remember it as one of first things I'd had. I got it from family friend from Seattle, from which i later got my favourite stuffed dalmatian :) I knew most of them when I was like five years old, well I keep saying my English only got worse since then :)

A lullaby- Willie Winkie
Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town,
Upstairs and downstairs in hos nightgown,
rapping at the window, crying through the lock,
Are all the children in their beds, it's past eight o'clock?

This is also a lullaby, but it has a great lot of various modifications, I've heard at least three, longer that this one. They usually go till the goat, but then some continue after that. Anyway, it's like that in my book:

Hush, Little Baby
Hush little baby, don't say a word,
Papa's goning to buy you a mockingbird.

If that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's goning to buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns brass,
Papa's goning to buy you a looking glass.

If that looking glass gets broke,
Papa's goning to buy you a billy goat.

If that billy goat runs away,
Papa's goning to buy you another today.

(what kind of goat is billy goat? By the way, I've heard also a version with "If that billy goat won't pull"... people buy goats to pull their children? Ehm... wtf?) :)

And I loved that one... I think that's the first rhyme I've ever remembered.

Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall;
All the King's horses,
And all the King's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

And well, some of them are rather morbid:

Three Blind Mice
Three blind mice, see how they run,
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tales with a carving knife,

I think The Pussycat is also quite simple and nice:

"MEOWW!"

And songs are the best, kids love them.

I always wonder about the origins and logic (or rather its absence) -

who was the king?
why blackbirds?
And OK, if blackbirds, why 24 of them?

I like the theory some of these rhymes are actually corrupted memories of ritual chants (?) used by pagan priest when slaying their sacrificies.
(as Czech Zlatá brána is supposed to be :-)
